Late and Missed Appointment Policy

Saybrook Veterinary Hospital is committed to providing individualized medical care to our clients and patients. When an appointment is scheduled, a specific amount of time is reserved especially for you, your pet and the Doctor. Missed appointments and late arrivals prevent other patients from receiving the medical care they need.


We require at least 24 hour notice to cancel or reschedule all appointments. 


A missed appointment is when you fail to show up to an appointment without a phone call, or cancel without at least 24 hour notice.


We understand that everyone occasionally forgets an appointment therefore the first missed appointment or late/same day cancellation will be excused.


After the second missed appointment, a non-refundable “scheduling fee” must be paid at the time of scheduling any future appointments. The fee will be applied towards your bill. 

You will be considered late for your appointment if your arrive more than 10 minutes after your scheduled appointment time.


If more than 10 minutes late, you may be required to reschedule.  If we are able to accommodate a late arrival, your appointment may be converted to a curbside or drop-off appointment. A late fee may be charged.
